Summer Fun in Tysons Corner

You don’t need to spend all of your time in your Tysons VA office space. Below are a few fun suggestions for you and your family to enjoy this last summer month before school starts…

Clemyjontri Park

Don’t let the bizarre name fool you – this park is ideal for children with special needs. It encompasses 18 acres and offers play equipment and activities specifically for children with braces, walkers and wheelchairs. There is a track that runs through the entire length of the park, as well as colorful pathways, swings and slides, and an area for gymnastics. During the warmer months, you can take carousel rides for $1.50. Bring your picnic lunch and plan to stay for the day, as there are covered areas and picnic tables where you can enjoy a family meal together.

Arlington County Fair
August 8-12

Who doesn’t love a good fair? The Arlington County Fair is one of the largest free events on the East coast. Next weekend, your family will enjoy the typical fair activities of carnival rides, live animal shows, concerts, arts and crafts, and of course a wide variety of international food. The fair also offers outdoor movie nights: Friday for the teens, Saturday for families.

Shirlington Jazz Festival
Thursday nights in August, 6:30-8:30pm
In front of Signature Theater

Every Thursday in August, come enjoy free live jazz at The Village at Shirlington. Cheesetique will also be offering wine tastings for $5, with all proceeds going to benefit the Arlington Food Assistance Center. It’s a great way to have a relaxing summer evening as your work week is winding down.
