Metro Offices Employee Spotlight: Janelle Cooley

Metro Offices Employee Spotlight: Janelle Cooley

Janelle Cooley, Center Manager of Metro OfficesThe first thing you’ll probably notice about Janelle Cooley is her smile. That’s because she tries to smile as much as possible: “it’s contagious!” she says. As Center Manager at the Reston center, Janelle puts her excellent communication and people skills to good use. “The Center Manager position carries a lot of hats. On any given day I can do sales, marketing, accounting and/or client relations. Basically my job is to make sure our clients’ days run as smoothly as possible and they have all the support they need to be successful,” she explains. “When our clients are successful, we are successful.”

Janelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Phoenix, and has been employed by Metro Offices for a year and a half. She appreciates her amazing Metro Offices team members and the depth of experience they offer. She believes the company is set apart from other executive suites in Washington, DC, by “the sense of community and the personal touch that we offer our clients.”

Janelle says she doesn’t really have a hometown – “I went to three elementary schools, three junior highs and three high schools” – but she enjoys living in the DC area. Her favorite attraction near her center is Reston Town Center with its assortment of restaurants, stores, an ice skating rink and special events.

Janelle is currently single, and enjoys spending time with her older brother and mom. “My mom is one of my best friends, although at times we are too much alike. My father has passed so my brother has taken over as my male life yoda,” she jokes. She also has a “spoiled rotten” Shih Tzu puppy named Peanut.

Although she admits she doesn’t have much free time, Janelle loves to read, golf, “play in the mud” in her garden and cook in her kitchen. Her favorite place to dine out is any vegan restaurant. If she could go anywhere for a day, she would head somewhere warm so she could play golf.

When asked about the achievement she is most proud of, Janelle says “how far I have come. I took the path less traveled and still made it through.” In the future, she looks forward to going back to school for her Master’s degree.

Thanks, Janelle, for your smiles and for being an important part of the Metro Offices team!
