Metro Offices Sponsors 7th Annual GW Business Plan Competition

Metro Offices was pleased to present in-kind prizes for six-month office agreements to two George Washington University graduate teams during the annual GW Business Plan Competition Finals, held on April 14. During their tenure, these teams will enjoy conducting business in a private office space with all Metro Offices center amenities – a package valued at up to $15,000.

The seventh year of the GW Business Plan Competition began strong with more than 100 submissions. Out of that initial group, 40 were selected to advance to Round Two, and 10 finalists advanced to Round Three. Each team competed in either the General Entrepreneurship Track or the GWupstart Social Venture Track, and were judged according to each track’s specific criteria. The 10 finalist teams presented their business pitches to a panel of judges and a live audience.

Quorum will have DC office space at Farragut. Quorum is an online legislative strategy platform that provides unique quantitative insights in the U.S. Congress. Featuring interactive visualizations and up-to-date statistics for every member, bill, vote, committee, issue area and congressional district, Quorum is changing the way people see, explain and influence the legislative process.

Connecting4Good (C4G) will take Tysons, VA, office space. C4G provides a branded solution that connects West African telecommunications firms to a technology solution that extends internet penetration; distributes web-enabled/smart phones at an affordable price; and sponsors design challenges for incubators/nonprofits to create socially beneficial apps/mobile tools. C4G competed within the GWupstart Social Venture Track of the competition.

In addition, all finalist teams received a Day Office Package for six months (8 hours per month). Metro Offices is very excited about hosting these up-and-coming new companies! Congratulations to all the finalists!
